COOKING CLASS TOUR AT THUY BIEU ECO VILLAGE HUE
Explore Thien Mu Pagoda By Dragon Boat
To begin the tour, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or homestay in Hue. He will arrive with Hue Cyclos or in a private car. And that’s when the Cooking Class at Thuy Bieu Village Tour begins.
We will begin our journey at Toa Kham Boat Wharf, where we will board a dragon boat and travel through Truong Tien Bridge to Thien Mu Pagoda. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes downstream on the Perfume River to reach Thien Mu Pagoda. During the trip, visitors can take photos and admire the scenery along both banks of the Perfume River.
The boat will dock directly at the foot of Thien Mu Pagoda, allowing visitors to disembark and proceed to the pagoda. This pagoda is one of the symbols of Hue and is over 400 years old, built in 1601. The tour guide will share fascinating stories about this pagoda and its history with visitors.
In addition, visitors have the opportunity to learn about Feng Shui and the architecture of this pagoda. In particular, the tour guide will inform visitors about the legend of the love curse associated with this pagoda. This curse has been passed down for centuries and has become an integral part of the pagoda.
After visiting the Thien Mu Pagoda, we will continue our Cooking Class at the Thuy Bieu Village Tour. Visitors will then travel by dragon boat, admiring the beauty of the Perfume River. On the banks of the Perfume River, visitors can see the famous Thanh Tra pomelo orchards and the Hue Temple of Literature, featuring 32 stone steles.
We will then arrive at Hue Ecolodge Wharf and transfer to the location of the Cooking Class at Thuy Bieu Eco-Village Tour.
Hue Cooking Class Tour
This time is around 9 am or 3 pm, depending on your preferred schedule. You will be provided with bicycles and, accompanied by a tour guide, will travel to the local market. You will have time to explore the market and observe the local lifestyle and activities.
At the market, visitors will have the opportunity to see many food stalls offering a wide variety of fresh produce, including vegetables, meat, fish, and other ingredients. We will purchase the necessary ingredients for the Cooking Class at Thuy Bieu Village Tour under the guidance of the head chef.
On our way back to the cooking location, we will visit several homes of artisans. First is an incense-making household, one of the indispensable elements in Vietnamese worship culture. The homeowner will demonstrate to visitors how to create a complete incense stick.
Votive paper-making household items (Vàng mã) are items related to the religious activities of the people of Hue. In Hue, votive paper is incredibly diverse, ranging from traditional items like horses and clothing to modern items such as telephones, motorbikes, and many others.
Finally, on the return journey, visitors will stop by the local painter’s home to admire his artwork. Additionally, visitors can appreciate the serene surroundings of the famous Thuy Bieu area.
We will return to the restaurant at Hue Ecolodge to prepare for the cooking class. The resort’s chef will guide guests on how to prepare the following three main dishes.
- Figs mixed with shrimp and meat (Figs picked from trees in the garden).
- Vietnam’s traditional spring rolls
- Hue Crispy Pancakes (a special dish of the countryside).
After preparing their first dish, guests will begin their lunch with the very dishes they prepared earlier. In addition, the kitchen will prepare four more dishes for lunch. These four dishes will include stir-fried vegetables with meat and shrimp, vegetable soup, steamed rice, and a seasonal fruit dessert from the village.
After enjoying lunch, guests will say goodbye to the chef, concluding the Cooking Class at Thuy Bieu Village Tour. A vehicle will pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Hue City. Hue Top Tours hopes you had a wonderful experience with our service.
