HUE CITY HALF DAY TOUR SCHEDULE
Depending on your schedule, you can choose either the morning or afternoon session. Below is the sample itinerary we suggest for your trip.
Option 1: Hue Half-Day Tour In The Morning
In the morning (8:00 AM recommended), our driver and tour guide will arrive at your hotel in Hue. After a few minutes of conversation, they will walk you to the car outside. And our Hue Ancient City Half Day Tour begins here.
First, you will take a Hue Dragon Boat, a traditional boat of the Nguyen kings. On the tranquil Perfume River, you will admire the scenic natural scenery and streets along the banks. Our tour guide will also share interesting stories about “Why it is called Perfume River“ and its connection to the ancient capital of Hue.
The boat trip will stop at the oldest pagoda in Hue city, Thien Mu Pagoda. This pagoda boasts ancient architecture with distinctive structures such as the Phuoc Duyen Tower. The tour guide will also share with you the fascinating legend of the Thien Mu Pagoda Love Curse. Admiring the fresh air and pine-covered hills, you can find peace while visiting here.
Next, we will take you to the Hue Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a symbol of Hue’s culture, history, and architecture. Its design reflects the imperial style of the Nguyen Dynasty, with detailed dragon and phoenix carvings and decorative porcelain glaze.
These features are clearly shown in prominent structures such as the Thai Hoa Palace, the Kien Trung Palace, and the Ngo Mon Gate. You can also experience Hue’s traditional court music at Duyet Thi Duong Theatre when visiting Hue Imperial City.
Finally, we will take you to the Dong Ba Market. Located on the bustling Tran Hung Dao Street, this is Hue’s largest market, offering a wide variety of goods, such as food, souvenirs, clothing, and fabrics. Here you can buy conical hats and enjoy local specialties like banh loc (tapioca dumplings), grilled pork noodles, and clam rice (com hen).
At the end of our Hue City Half Day Tour, our driver will return you to your hotel. He will help you get out of the car and check if you’ve left anything behind. After all, you will say goodbye to him and the tour guide.
Option 2: Hue City Tour In The Afternoon
Completely different from the morning tour itinerary, if you choose this afternoon tour, your trip will include the Hue Royal Tomb. Starting from your hotel, we will take you to visit the prominent Nguyen Dynasty tombs of the Hue Imperial Citadel system, including:
Minh Mang Royal Tomb
Located about 12 km from the city center, Minh Mang Mausoleum is a stunning architectural complex with over 40 palaces and shrines. Surrounded by a serene natural setting, the complex creates a harmonious blend between royal architecture and nature. During your visit, your tour guide will share stories about the life and meaningful tales of this most respected king.
Khai Dinh King Tomb
The Khai Dinh Tomb is perched on the slopes of Chau Chu Mountain. Not as large as other mausoleums, the architecture still stands out for its unique blend of Eastern and Western styles. Visitors, upon arrival, are immediately amazed by two rows of stone statues of civil and military officials, elephants, and horses in the main courtyard.
The interior of the tomb is richly decorated with intricate mosaic art crafted from porcelain and glass pieces. One of the highlights is the famous “Nine Dragons Hiding in the Clouds” relief on the ceiling.
Finally, at the last part of our tour, you’ll visit Thuy Xuan Incense Village. Here, you can watch skilled artisans making incense by hand. Additionally, you have the chance to participate and learn how to make incense yourself. You can also support local artisans by purchasing incense and agarwood as souvenirs.
After a fantastic tour with us, you’ll return to your hotel. Once you’ve got out of the car and unloaded your belongings, your Half-Day Tour in Hue comes to an official close here.
Hue Top Tours wishes you the best trip with us!
